Students participating with the IP Clinic are expected to put in at least 80 hours of work each semester (40 hours per credit and the Clinic is 2 credit hours). This time is spent on teaching from supervisors, working on client matters, counseling clients, providing public lectures, among other possible action items.
Once admitted, each student is placed on a team which is supervised by an attorney. The supervising attorney will instruct, review work, and mentor each student on the team. One of the goals of the Clinic is that this experience will enable students to develop practical skills which can be directly transferred to legal practice following graduation.
